Northern Trust Corp. of Chicago has hired Nirup Krishnamurthy as its chief technology officer and an executive vice president.

Mr. Krishnamurthy was the chief information officer and a vice president at UAL Corp., the Elk Grove Township, Ill., parent of United Airlines. Before that he had been the vice president of the information services division for the airline, which he joined in 1990.

He will report to Timothy J. Theriault, Northern Trust's president of worldwide operations and technology.

Northern Trust has also hired Christopher Guinther as its senior portfolio manager for small-cap growth equity holdings.

Mr. Guinther had a similar job at Prudential Financial Inc., where he oversaw $500 million of assets. Before that he had been a small-cap growth mutual fund co-manager at Banc One Investment Advisors Corp.

He will report to John Cole, Northern Trust's head of active growth equity.

KeyBank of Cleveland has hired the president of Bank of America's community development banking group as the president of its Rocky Mountain region, a newly created job.

Michael H. Dulan will oversee retail, business, and middle-market commercial banking in Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. He will be based in Denver and will report to George E. Emmons Jr., the KeyCorp unit's community bank president.

At Bank of America, Mr. Dulan oversaw community development lending and investment in 22 states. Before that he had been the president of the Bank of America Corp. unit's Georgia banking operations. …
