The War Resisters League's Youth and Counter-Militarism Program, in its belief that counter-military recruitment is a key element in the struggle to end not just the war in Iraq but the spread of militarism and violence in our society, has initiated three short-term and two long-term campaigns to strengthen the skills of this growing youth movement. By going to www.warresisters.org/youth.htm, you can download fliers on "What the Recruiter Doesn't Want You To Know" and "The Delayed Entry Program: You Don't Have to Go," as well as an article called "Counterrecruiters Claim Some of the Credit for Drop in Military Enlistments." In addition, The Nonviolent Activist. the Magazine of the War Resisters League (June 2005), describes the roots of counter-recruitment, ways of resisting recruiters, and future actions in "Building a Vibrant Counter-Recruitment Movement."
