GUITARIST: Andrew Roudny

AGE: 29

STYLE: High-energy rock

INFLUENCES: The Beach Boys, Andrew W.K., the Who, Fear Factory, Van Halen, Steve Vai

MAIN GUITAR: Homemade Korina "Strat"

LOCATION: Toronto, Ontario

BACKGROUND: After hearing Van Halen's "Eruption" when he was 13, Roudny convinced his parents to buy him an electric guitar, and he joined his first band three years later, playing everything from the Monkees to the Stone Temple Pilots. Roudny has also scored the indie film Held Secular, and placed in the top five at the North American Rock Guitar Competition.

His debut, Zero Words Or Less, is an instrumental, composition-driven CD with lots of progressive changes and ripping solos. Using both electric and acoustic guitars to create interesting textures, parts of Roudny's work would likely appeal to of Van Halen and Joe Satriani, while other tracks are more cinematic in flavor.
