Sky Financial Group Inc. of Bowling Green, Ohio, has hired Zahid Afzal as its chief technology officer and an executive vice president.

He joined the company, which owns the $15.7 billion-asset Sky Bank, from Bank of America Corp., where he had been a senior vice president and the chief information officer for its consumer banking division.

Earlier he had been a senior technology executive at Citicorp.

He will report to Les Starr, Sky Financial's corporate executive vice president of technology and operations.


Banc of America Securities LLC of New York said Harry van Dyke would join the Bank of America Corp. unit in June as the head of its newly formed transaction development group.

Mr. van Dyke has worked for 23 years at Morgan Stanley. He had led a similar group for the New York investment bank and was also a co-head of its North American financial sponsors group.

He will report to Brian Brille, the global head of investment banking at Banc of America Securities.

J.G. Wentworth, a structured settlement and annuity purchasing company in Bryn Mawr, Pa., has hired Ken Murray as its chief marketing officer, a newly created job.

Mr. Murray was the senior vice president of research and development at MBNA Corp., which Bank of America Corp. bought in January.

CharterMac of New York has given president Marc D. Schnitzer the additional job of chief executive officer.

As the CEO, he succeeded Stephen M. Ross, who had held the job on an interim basis since November and will remain CharterMac's chairman.

In addition to being CharterMac's president, a job he has had since 2003, Mr. Schnitzer is a managing trustee of the multifamily real estate finance company, the CEO of its CharterMac Capital LLC, and the chairman of its CharterMac Mortgage Capital. …
