My company is always looking for better ways to improve its collections. One problem we have had is that our management information systems (MIS) department did not have time to write sophisticated, new collections programs. Furthermore, none of the outside software packages we looked at have been very useful. Therefore, when we were shown the capabilities of GETPAID collections software, we knew that it would help us meet our goals.

Our collections department handles three different category of customers, and they all require different strategies. In addition, one of them has special collections sensitivities associated with property management and service. GETPAID has allowed us to mix the timing and language of calls, letters, and faxes in an appropriate way for each customer category. It also lets us automatically alter those strategies for customer balances over and under threshold amounts which we set. Beyond this, we can select where in each strategy we want to notify our sales personnel when there is an unresolved customer problem.

We never wanted our collectors to spend non-productive time researching the accounts before contacting customers, but until we acquired GETPAID, there was no way to avoid it. Now, our collectors become aware the day after customers fail to keep a promised payment date. They are then automically reminded to contact customers in the order of highest amounts owed instead of alphabetically.

Our collectors no longer have to look at various reports and then check the account on a computer screen before deciding what to do. …
