Laser Sales, which sells airtime for Yorkshire Tyne Tees Television and LWT, has moved quickly to reassure advertisers that any shortfall in spots for October will be put right.

Advertising airtime on Yorkshire Tyne Tees Television is around 5% over-subscribed this month.

But Ron Miller, sales director of Laser, which sells airtime for YTTV and LWT, promises: "There will not be many advertisers dissatisfied with their October/November airtime delivery."

Advertisers were offered good terms on fourth quarter airtime in the YTTV region if they paid for it before the end of September. YTTV airtime sales moved into Laser at the end of September, and pulling forward money in this way meant that the old sales staff could maximise their commission.

If Laser fails to slot in the airtime to suit advertisers' requirements it could find itself facing demands for cash back. "There's no point in having ratings on their own after the planned campaign period," says Ian Shenton, media controller of United Biscuits. …
