The SIRSI Corporation will be installing systems for a U.S. Army center in New Jersey and an Odessa College's learning center in Odessa, Texas.

The Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (U.S. Army ARDEC), located in Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, will be installing SIRSI's Scientific and Technical Information Library Automation System (STILAS). STILAS will replace the center's existing LS/2000 system. In addition to the Bibliographic and Inventory Control Module, the center's library has licensed the Acquisitions Module, Authority Control Module, Circulation Module, Enhanced Public Access Module, Enhanced Research Access, Multiuser Gateway, and Intelligent Interfaces to DROLS and other STILAS sites. STILAS will run on a SUN 4/490 host computer.

According to Patricia Ays, Systems Librarian, STILAS will be used to download DTIC COSATI records onto the U.S. Army ARDEC database. The SIRSI Intelligent Interface to DROLS will be used to access this DTIC database, and COSATI records will be downloaded using Enhanced Researchers Access. This SIRSI software will allow library staff to search DROLS with SIRSI commands, select the records they want, and interactively download them to their local system. …
