O'Reilly & Associates, a leading publisher of Internet books and SPRY, Inc., developer of easy-to-use Windows Internet applications, have announced plans for Internet-in-a-Box. The jointly developed product will make connecting to and using the Internet hassle-free for small and medium-size businesses and indivdiual users.

Internet-in-a-Box will be the first shrink-wrapped package to provide easy desktop computer access to the vast resources of the Internet. The package indludes SPRY's Windows TCP/IP applications for the Internet and a customized version of O'Reilly's best selling The Whole Internet User's Guide and Catalog. In addition, NoX InterServ, the first Internet access provider to partner with O'Reilly and SPRY, will provide TCP/IP-based Internet services via SprintLink's 1-800 data services.

"Everyone is suddenly discovering the tremendous value of access to the information highway. New users are logging on the Internet at the rate of 150,000 per month--despite the fact that Internet access has been extremely difficult for sites without dedicated lines and UNIX machines. Internet-in-a-Box lets personal computer users easily access the Internet with one resource. It's as easy to use as Widows or a Mac," explained Tim O'Reilly, president of O'Reilly & Associates.

SPRY's suite of graphical network applications comes bundled in Internet-in-a-Box and provides users with Telnet, Gopher, WAIS, mail, news and Mosaic. …
