Dreaming of going to university or taking a gap-year to travel? If so, you could benefit from the Society's Young Geographer membership category. Whether you have a burning interest in the environment or international development, earthquakes or climate change, the Society's up-to-date research and information can help you take your fascination further. And if you're serious about travel or going off the beaten track, then you can get involved with our specialist expeditions and fieldwork advice and courses.

Young Geographer membership is open to anyone aged between 14 and 24 who is currently studying geography, or anyone who has recently graduated from geography or an allied subject. The membership is an ideal way into the Society for young people keen to find out more about geography and the world around them.

If you would like to follow in the footsteps of Bob Geldof or Michael Palin--both of whom are members of the Society--you'll find a world of inspiration, not to mention unlimited use of our library of guidebooks to every destination, to help you on your way. …
