At 81 years old, James Wilson still works in the liquor store that he owns in Louisville, Kentucky. Even after being slugged in the head with a pistol during a robbery attempt on June 6, he was at work on June 7.

His being at work on the day after he was robbed is all the more remarkable because this robbery attempt was the third one that he has faced in the 20 years that he's owned the store. According to the Courier-Journal, Wilson suffered a stab wound to the stomach when he was robbed in 1994, and he drove off an armed robber in 2002 by pulling a pistol. The recent robbery attempt bears a resemblance to the second robbery attempt.

Wilson, who lives above the liquor store, was returning from grocery shopping and had parked in his garage at about 3:30 p.m. when he was rushed by a robber carrying a pistol. The robber hit Wilson in the head with the pistol at least twice, but Wilson wasn't willing to stand by and be beaten. …
