Factiva Reaches No. 1 Market Position

Factiva recently announced that it has reached the No. I market position in the Current Awareness News and Research Online industry. Since it was founded in 1999, Factiva has continued to produce a new wave of products and services that cater to business information needs of enterprises worldwide. Simba, a media industry forecast and analysis firm, reported that Factiva leads the industry with a $281.6 million operating revenue (2005) and ranked Factiva as a leader with 1.86 million subscribers.

Factiva interim CEO Claude Green keeps his eyes on the strategic vision and operations of its clients, which make up nearly 80 percent of the Global Fortune 500. So what does he credit with boosting the company to the No. 1 spot? For one, he sees the "innovative spirit of Factiva since the beginning of its existence" as having a profound effect on market growth. He also sees the focus of the company that's aimed at getting "better and better," improving its content, such as subject spreads and language that is inherent in receiving its patents (awarded and pending). "Factiva is not just sitting on its laurels," he said. And last but not least, Factiva's "constant contact with customers" and its desire "to do the right thing by our customers" has been a real "benefit for the new kid on the block."
