Stuart Heather, the joint managing director of newly-merged direct marketing group WWAV Rapp Collins, is to leave the company at the end of this month.

He will be "pursuing new interests", which will include establishing a new autumn direct marketing convention. He is also keen to "explore new ways of driving customer loyalty".

A regular speaker on direct marketing topics in the UK and abroad, Heather has also held a number of high-profile positions such as chairman of the IPA's Direct Marketing Group and executive board member of the DMA.

His shoes at WWAV Rapp Collins will be filled by John Watson, formerly head of WWAV, who becomes sole managing director.

Heather claimed his departure was "entirely amicable" and had been decided well in advance of the merger in January.

"At the time of the merger discussions I made it clear that I would wish to follow new interests once the whole thing had settled down," he said. …
