Some of our favorite things to give at any gift-giving opportunity are stationery and note cards. The elegance of sending a handwritten note on carefully selected, quality cards is unmatched. We love getting them. We love giving them. They are just the perfect choice for so many on our lists.

So, we turn to the catalogs of Galison, New York, and Mudpuppy Press, featuring a superior collection of fine art note cards, writing journals, address books, puzzles, and educational games.

For stationery sets that will add a warm touch to your correspondence, check out the selection of Write Away ($9). With flowers, hearts, dots, and stripes, each set comes with 10 sheets each of two designs, 20 matching envelopes, and 24 seals in an acetate case. Show your appreciation in style with die-cut Thank You Notes ($8). With many types to choose from, these fun cards have full color interiors and are packaged 12 per box with 13 envelopes.

Always a fan of the jigsaw genre, we love the Museum Puzzles ($12). Arriving in a 4 1/2" stackable cube with a slide out drawer for the pieces, each 500-piece puzzle measures 16" x 16". From Van Gogh's "Blue Skies" to Degas' "Dancers at Rest," the puzzles are as beautiful as they are challenging. Each comes with an informational insert, but you'd be hard-pressed to forget the artist after spending so much time examining every inch of his work.

With six roomy pockets, Large Accordion Organizers ($12.50) will help you keep track of coupons, bills, recipes, etc. At 6 1/2" x 9", they come with a refillable memo pad, center loop to hold a pencil, and sport an elastic closure. In a variety of appealing designs, each spine features a quote such as the one found on Sunny Stripes, "First things first, but not necessarily in that order" On Travel Collage, you will find, "Not knowing where I am going is what inspires me to travel." The 4" x 6 1/2" Small Accordion Organizers ($9.50) also have six pockets, notepad, pencil holder, and elastic closure, with different designs and quotes.

Charming Photo Albums ($10) hold 36 4" x 6" prints in a concealed wire bound book with whimsical covers like School Days and Vintage Camera. Acid-free inserts and plastic sleeves help protect those special memories.

For the children on our list, we naturally gravitate to the puzzles. Because we love Eric Carle and his exceptional children's books, we couldn't resist The Very Books Block Puzzle ($13). …
