YOU know a guy has arrived when he is known around the world by just a single name.

That's how we know Tyrese. His full name is Tyrese Gibson, but his rise to superstar status in Hollywood has been so meteoric that his music, fashion and movie fans sometimes forget he has a last name.

The native of the Watts section of Los Angeles began to make music as a teenager. But it was fashion that first propelled him into stardom. In the 1990s, Tyrese, now 27, modeled for legendary designer Tommy Hilfiger. He moved on to sporting his duds exclusively for Guess.

Women marveled at his chiseled, sexy physique and men wanted to look like him. But he never forgot about music and, as a Grammy Award-nominated artist, his albums Tyrese, 2000 Watts and I Wanna Go There sold well and have exposed him to an even broader range of fans.

In 2001, he was cast in the movie Baby Boy and two years later, he was seen in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Still, Tyrese is primarily seen as one of Hollywood's supreme fashion icons. And he loves his designer duds. ox e designers like Sean John, Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, Kenny Burns and others," he says.

His Los Angeles home has five large closets to house his expansive and expanding wardrobe. "I have so many clothes that it's crazy," he says. And it's not just clothes. He says he has at least 450 pair s of athletic shoes and 320 pairs of dress shoes.

Although he has worn the attire of just about every designer known to man, Tyrese says he is determined to model the lines of Louis Vuitton.

"I won't be happy until I do the next Louis Vuitton campaign," he says. "They got Jennifer Lopez and Pharrell from the Neptunes. …
