WLN Conspectus Software Available through PALINET

Release 5.0 of the WLN Conspectus Software, WLN's collection assessment and management system, is now available through PALINET, a regional network of libraries and information centers in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Under the terms of the agreement between PALINET and WLN, PALINET members are eligible to license the Software on an annual basis for as long as needed. Both individual library licenses and group licenses (for multiple copies of software) are available. Both initial and renewal licenses are provided at discounted prices to libraries in the PALINET service area.

"We are seeing a lot of interest in collection assessment and development within the PALINET service area so we are pleased to offer the WLN Conspectus Software to our members," commented Jeanne-Elizabeth Combs of PALINET who will be providing support for the Software.

WLN's Conspectus Software lets a library or group of libraries create its own collection assessment database and print a variety of assessment and collection management reports. The Software is organized around the framework of the Conspectus subject divisions, categories, and descriptors. It supports assessment of both Dewey and LC classified collections and is designed to accommodate smaller and special library collections as well as large research library collections.

The WLN Conspectus Software also supports the fiction assessment methodology developed by the Corn Belt and Lincoln Trail Libraries Systems in Illinois. …
