The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) announced three position changes.

Schroeder Cherry has been reappointed as counselor to the director. In this role, he will ensure that IMLS reaches underserved communities; act as liaison to community, museum, and library groups; provide advice on agency communications; and shape future directions for the agency. Prior to this, he was IMLS deputy director in charge of the Office of Museum Services.

Mamie Bittner has been promoted to the position of deputy director for policy, planning, research, and communications. She will continue to be responsible for legislative and public affairs and will also be responsible for the agency's research and evaluation functions.

Mary L. Chute has been appointed to a second term as the agency's deputy director for library services. She is the senior library and information policy official at IMLS. She is responsible for advising the director, leading the Office of Library Services, acting as liaison with the library community, and providing input on the agency's strategic plan. …
