See, Vickie will get detention if she doesn't join the all-male high school math team. But if she admits to kicking butt in math, she'll be tagged as a grade-A nerd. This would be a catastrophic situation, since Vickie hangs with the cheerleading crowd and has become, by default, the third most popular sophomore at Longwood High.

Thing is, Vickie has this habit of reciting the random digits of pi with unnerving accuracy. And the senior jock, who is totally varsity first string, is really into her. Vickie's hubris, you might say, is she's cheerleader-peppy but also algebraically savvy.

It's a combustible combo. Because in Victoria Martin: Math Team Queen, the wicked-rad new comedy by Kathryn Walat directed by Loretta Greco and running through Feb. 11 at Women's Project in New York, the paradoxical elements that make Vickie what she is (a beauty and a geek) make her a catalyst for change in the lives of the boy nerds around her. …
