In July, Gill Henderson resigned as director of FACT in Liverpool to take up a new role this month as director of CreateKX, a creative and cultural development agency for King's Cross in London. She had been director of FACT for little more than a year, taking over from its founding director, Eddie Berg, who had left to become artistic director of the National Centre for the Moving Image in London. Establishing a new team at FACT had been one of Henderson's main challenges and over the past year she had created a new senior management team that has implemented a programme up to 2008. Henderson explained that she 'will miss the city and all the people in FACT and beyond who've been so supportive and inspiring to work alongside'.

Jens Hoffmann, currently director of exhibitions at London's ICA, has been named as the new director of the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts at California College of the Arts (CCA), where he succeeds Ralph Rugoff, who was director 2000-06 until his recent appointment as director of the Hayward Gallery in London. Hoffmann will take up his position at CCA on November 1, 2006, although he will continue his role at the ICA until early 2007. Hoffmann has said of his impending move that it is 'a wonderful opportunity to join an institution that embraces both curatorial innovation and critical reflection'. …
