Industry Day sessions * are designed for attendees to gather and network by like industries. Please note that these are not "closed" group meetings (unless indicated), and anyone is welcome to attend any of these sessions should the topic and/or speaker be of interest. Except for the International Utilities Group Meeting noted below, all Industry Day Sessions are held Monday, June 11, from 2:00-5:00pm.

15021. Advertising/Media

This will be a three-topic session that will include an update on the implementation and effects of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, generally, and specifically on the advertising and media industry. A discussion of the culpability of advertisers for product liability issues and an update on case law involving Sequential v. Joint & Several liability issues will be presented. The speakers for this session will be Scott Blakeley, Esq. of Blakeley and Blakeley, LLP and Wanda Borges, Esq. of Borges & Associates, LLC. There will be lively discussion plus time for feedback on all topics as well as door prizes.

Michelle Achondo, CBA of Wilbur-Ellis Company and Kelly Simon, CCE, Cutter & Buck, will show you how to create a fun, interactive and informative training session

for your sales force by using a game show format. You'll learn that this format not only builds teamwork with your credit and sales force, but it also builds morale and professional development for your credit staff as well.

15023. Apparel/Footwear

Join this session as Lawrence Gottleib and Jay Indke of Kronish, Lieb, Weiner & Hellman LLP provide the latest news on bankruptcy issues. Bill Lenhart of BDO Seidman, LLP will be present on second lien financing and pensions in relation to bankruptcy.

15024. Building/Construction

Representatives from a national builder will speak about the processing of documents and other required steps in order for you, the contractor, sub-contractor or material supplier, to get paid timely. Current economic trends as they relate to national builders and the construction industry will also be discussed. The second half of the session will feature senior claims representatives presenting advice and suggestions on how to promptly get paid on bond claims without use of attorneys and expensive litigation, and what can cause delays on the processing of your claim and how to avoid them. There will also be a panel and round table discussion on the issues and challenges on accepting cash, COD and other forms of prepayment. Items discussed will include reconciliation responsibility, benefits and disadvantages of accepting cash, checks and credit cards, fraud prevention and technology tools in cash sales management.

15025. Drugs/Cosmetics/Pharmaceuticals

Join this group for an informative session in which Wanda Borges, Esq. of Borges & Associates, LLC and Bruce Nathan, Esq. of Lowenstein Sandler PC will present a credit management law question-and-answer roundtable. Any and all topics effecting today's credit professionals will be addressed.
