New Member for NYT Co. Board as Sulzberger's Sister Steps Down

The New York Times Co. said late Thursday its board of directors nominated fourth-generation Sulzberger family member Daniel H. Cohen, a former reality TV producer, to the board, replacing Cathy J. Sulzberger who has chosen not to stand for re-election at the April 24 annual meeting.

Cathy Sulzberger, a director since 2002, is the sister of Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr., chairman of the board and publisher of the flagship New York Times. Cohen is a cousin of Arthur Sulzberger Jr., and Michael Golden, vice chairman of the Board and publisher of the International Herald Tribune.

"I am delighted to have Dan nominated to serve on our board," Sulzberger said in a statement. "As a fourth-generation family member he brings a deep understanding of our company's historic mission and its long-term business objectives."

Sulzberger said his sister had served the company "with great dedication and commitment since 2002 and we are grateful for her vision and wisdom during these past years. …
