Dear NO-IT-ALLs,

I love the conference workshops at the Congress of Cities, but have never gone on any of the mobile workshops before. How do they work? Will they interfere with general sessions? What if I want to take more than one? I am bringing my family down to the conference with me. Can my family come with me on these? I am just not sure how these work. Help!

I have often wished for an extra eight hours in a day to do all the things I want to do. The beautiful part about the mobile workshops is that there are a lot of them and they are all offered at different days and times. Some are even repeated for convenience. The trick here is to sign up early and make sure you get the ones you want. Let me address a couple of key points here for you.

They will not interfere with the general sessions. There are no mobile workshops scheduled during the general sessions or business meetings to ensure that they will not cause a conflict for delegates. So no need to worry there.

Some of the sessions do overlap with conference workshops so it is imperative that you make sure that you choose your workshops and mobile workshops carefully so they do not overlap. Again the key is to balance your indoor workshops with your outdoor activities to maximize your Congress of Cities experience.

You can take more than one mobile workshop provided there is space, you are registered and you can work it in with your committee meetings, state league meetings and desired workshops. …
