Adwatch: TRESemme - 'Only for Professionals'

I woke up this morning with conjunctivitis in both eyes. The local guitar legend, could probably turn that into a 21st-century blues classic. But it is actually the truth. I needed to go to the doctor, so I took the morning off work - and what a splendid morning it was.

I had an Adwatch review to write so I decided to watch daytime TV and review whichever of the top-20 Adwatch 'prompted advertising awareness' ads cropped up first on my television.

While I waited to be ambushed, one of those stunning Channel 4 trailers come on. The camera drifted and spiralled through skyscrapers and canyons until it found the number '4' rendered architecturally. High-five to the creative team.

Next up was a re-run of Friends. It is well-cast, well-acted, well-plotted, well-written. The comedy is clean-cut, but simultaneously near the knuckle.

I was still laughing as we went to the ad break, when suddenly I got a terrible, stabbing pain in my eyes; it was the TRESemme ad currently riding high at number four in the Adwatch chart with 49% 'prompted advertising awareness'. …
