FORUM CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

The Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) National Forum--a three-day educational event--is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The annual event includes sessions that explore leading-edge technologies and their applications in all types of libraries. The 2007 forum, "Technology with Altitude," will be held October 4-7 in Denver.

Preconfences will feature Thom Gillespie, director of the MIME program at Indiana University, Bloomington, on "the-library-knowledge-kills," a live-action experiment in alternative-reality game design. "Library-wide IT Proficiency" will be presented by Grace Sines of the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, Maryland, and Brenda Chawner, Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand. Keynote speakers include Jeffrey Kiehl of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado; David King of the Topeka and Shawnee County (Kans.) Public Library; and Jeremy Frumkin of Oregon State University, Corvallis. More than 30 concurrent sessions on a wide range of topics and Sunday poster sessions round out the forum, along with a variety of networking opportunities.
