Dear N.O.-IT-ALLS,

I was wondering if you could tell me the difference between Leadership Training Institute (LTI) Seminars and the regular workshops at the Congress of Cities and Exposition. Are the LTIs at the same time as other workshops? Are they included in my registration fees? I love the NLC seminars and workshops and want to take them all.

NLC is just the support group you need to satisfy that thirst for knowledge. In order to maximize both your personal and professional growth, NLC provides workshops that satisfy both, through its general workshops, and its LTI seminars Sort of a one-stop shop for professional growth. The LTI seminars are pre-conference seminars that are designed to increase a participant's personal leadership knowledge, skills and abilities. The regular NLC conference workshops lean more toward learning through best practices and issue-based workshops that are of interest to local elected officials in every type of community.

The LTI seminars are held the Tuesday and Wednesday preceding the official opening sessions of the Congress of Cities on Thursday. LTI seminars are either half-day or full-day interactive training programs with only a limited number of participants, much like a college graduate program, and are conducted by professional trainers, university professors, and nationally recognized experts

While they are connected to the Congress of Cities, these seminars are not included in the registration fees paid to attend the conference. …
