CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF LEADERSHIP

The Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) is celebrating 50 years in 2007--a milestone that provides the perfect opportunity to reflect on the ALA division's past accomplishments as well as a look toward the future.

LAMA comprises a wide spectrum of both aspiring and experienced library leaders. Membership has continued to grow at a steady pace as new members discover the division's unique and valuable place in the library association world.

The division offers unlimited opportunities for library professionals to learn valuable skills as well as establish and nourish a professional network of peers. LAMA's popularity and continued growth are due, in large part, to the diversity of its membership of public, academic, and special librarians; architects, consultants, and vendors; students; and nonlibrarian professionals in public relations, financial and business services, and other areas.

THIS YEAR'S HIGHLIGHTS

With continued steady growth, LAMA's popularity brought in a record number of new student members, many of whom are among our youngest and newest to the library profession. …
