Mix is jetting off to Italy but feeling a little nervous about the flight after the runway crash suffered by one of BA's planes.

BA Good morning, British Airways, how may I help?

Mktg Hi, I was looking to book a flight to Rome, but I'm slightly worried after the runway accident.

BA That's understandable, sir, a lot of people have a fear of flying.

Mktg Well, I'm petrified of flying anyway. Is it still safe?

BA Yes. Accidents in the air are extremely rare, that's one of the reasons people prefer to fly as a means of transport. If there was a danger or any threat to our customers, the plane wouldn't depart.

Mktg So are flights grounded?

BA None of our flights have been cancelled as there is no threat to our customers.

Mktg Do they know what happened?

BA There could be a number of reasons for the accident. British Airways' safety record is exceptional, but there will be an investigation. If they believed there to be a danger, though, flights would be grounded If you are flying to Rome, we use smaller aircrafts, such as the Airbus, so it wouldn't be the same plane that was involved in the accident.
