Artexpo's Roots Run Deep

"Artexpo is the one time of the year where we get to see all the major dealers and receive an immense amount of feedback about our artists and their works. We also see how they compare with competition, which is the underlining point of attending such a reputable show as Artexpo," says Elliot Burns, owner of Soho Editions, a company that has been exhibiting at Artexpo for 25 years.

Burns is looking forward to yet another successful showing at Artexpo New York 2008. The company will host a sneak peek of Artist Viktor Shvaiko's new book "Walking Through Time," and Sam Park's original paintings will feature the romantic Florence, Italy as his new subject matter. Mersad Berber will be re-introduced to the American market by Soho Editions, the exclusive North American distributor for the graphic works of the distinguished European master painter. Soho will also introduce the original works and prints of a brand-new artist, Vakhtang A., whose landscapes express the painter's feelings and inner world.

Sculptor Sylvia Chair can still clearly remember the first time she exhibited at Artexpo New York in 1979. A South African artist, Chait had only exhibited a few other times in the United States. Artexpo was by far the largest show she had ever seen, and Chait was immediately inspired by the people she met and the artists' works she admired. Chait's first show was so successful that she knew Artexpo would be an event she would return to again and again. …
