ITV Recruits Digital Channels Marketer

ITV is to increase its marketing focus on its digital channels following the creation of a position dedicated to promoting ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4, children's channel CiTV and Men and Motors.

The broadcaster has appointed former BSkyB head of brand marketing Kylie Evans as head of digital channels marketing. She will also work with ITV marketing director David Pemsel on promoting the Freeview platform.

Evans' appointment marks a significant change of approach for ITV. Previously, the duties she had been assigned were tied in with consumer affairs, a position previously held by Tom Lucas. That role has now been split.

Evans is joining ITV after eight years at BSkyB, where she was responsible for the launch of Sky+ and oversaw the 'What do you want to watch?' campaign.

ITV's digital channels have enjoyed recent success, and Michael Grade, the broadcaster's executive chairman, has identified them as key revenue earners. Last year, they achieved sales of pounds 209m, up 32% on the previous year. …
