AP, 'Washington Post' Collect Handful of SPJ Awards

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) announced the winners of its 2007 Sigma Delta Chi Awards for excellence in journalism Monday, with The Associated Press, The Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times among the multiple winners.

SPJ said the winners in 48 categories were chosen from more than 1,000 entries this year.

The awards, which recognize work published in 2007, will be presented July 11 during the annual Sigma Delta Chi Awards banquet at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The following are 2007 Sigma Delta Chi winners in newspaper-related categories:
