Seventh and eighth grade students at Norwell Middle School (MA) are making their own movies to share the research they've completed on a variety of health topics. Working together in small groups, they are creating sketches to bring some tough issues to light. Their creations will be screened by classmates at the end of the semester, reported WickedLocal.com.

These students are enrolled in the middle school's half-year health/TV production course. This is the first year the school has been able to offer TV production as part of the health course; their AV equipment is new this year.

The assignment is simple: pick a health topic and create a movie about it. The students have gotten very creative, acting out scenes depicting topics such as the effects of steroid use and getting abducted by a rapist.

Once the students selected their topic, they were tasked with using writing and language skills to compose their scripts and storyboards. …
