'WSJ' Site Introduces 'Journal Women' Section

Wall Street Journal Online today announced the launch of a new section of its Web site that focuses exclusively on women in business.

The new section, called "Journal Women," is described in a Dow Jones press release as "a place where ambitious professional and executive women can come together to read and share ideas on work, family and the intersection of the two."

To help the new section gain traction, two of the Journal's prominent female columnists will produce work for it. Carol Hymowitz, who covers leadership issues for the site, will write a new online column called "Above the Glass," about women in the workplace. Sue Shellenbarger, author of the weekly "Work & Family" column, will write about family issues for the section.

The new section's other showcase will be "The Juggle" -- a blog, as the name suggests, about the trade-offs of balancing work and family life.

There is also a section called "Front Lines," which will contain daily news briefs about women making headlines in business and other women's issues in the news. …
