The Up n' Go consists of a mobility unit which is a wheeled, walking frame with a wide, U-shaped base with four casters, a suspension unit, and gas springs. The suspension unit is a carefully designed harness that is designed to be comfortable to wear while sitting or standing and to be easy to put on or take off. The back side of the unit is a flexible, gel pad, shaped like a bicycle seat. The front support is a wide pad of compressible foam. The suspension unit has large snap closures and can be adjusted for fit and comfort using four tug-and-release slides. Connecting the suspension unit to the mobility unit is done by lifting a ring over a ball. The gas springs provide support capability. Because these springs deliver constant force regardless of the degree to which they are compressed, they allow the user to be constantly and comfortably supported as they change position.
