Welcome back from whatever you did this summer.

I took the little extra time that the doldrums of dog days always bring to work on the CIL editorial calendar for next year. The themes are now set. See the ad in this issue or consult our website: www.infotoday.com/cilmag.

The overall theme for next year will be Empowering and Transforming Libraries With Information Technology. The series will start with an update on the trend toward virtual libraries.

We're already starting to work on that issue, so if you have a case study that relates to virtual reference, virtual cataloging, or anything else that involves remote workers or remote users, drop us a query. More details are at the magazine's website. The query deadline for the virtual libraries issue is Sept. 30.

In this issue, we're following up on the excellent "Helping You Buy Electronic Resource Management Systems" article that columnist Marshall Breeding published in our July/August Buyer's Guide issue. …
