West Publishing has announced the release of several new products and services for legal professionals.
Business and Financial Databases
Legal, accounting, and government professionals now have more than 3,000 news, business, and financial information databases to search on WESTLAW, thanks to the integration of nearly 1,000 additional sources from Dow Jones News/Retrieval. These new sources cover a Wide range of subjects and include newspapers, magazines, newsletters, abstracts, professional journals, reference books, and government publications. International and academic journal coverage is even stronger with these additions, according to West. Familiar titles available in full text on WESTLAW include BusinessWorld, Harvard Business Review, Golf, Life, The New Republic, National Review, and Sports Illustrated.
Campaign Resources
New also is the 1996 U.S. Political and Campaign News database (VOTE96) on WESTLAW. VOTE96 contains the latest state and federal political and campaign information gathered from such respected sources as Dow Jones News/Retrieval, which provides complete Wall Street Journal coverage, as well as coverage from the American Political Network, Congressional Quarterly, the Federal Election Commission, the federal government, Federal Document Clearing House, Leadership Directories, and Project Vote Smart.
Project Vote Smart, also available as a separate WESTLAW database (VOTE-SMART), provides nonpartisan voter information. Profiles available online include presidential, congressional, and gubernatorial candidate biographical summaries, campaign finance compilations, performance evaluations, voting records, and National Political Awareness Test (NPAT) results. …
