At the ASIS International 53rd Annual Seminar and Exhibits held in Las Vegas in September, Michael A. Steuer, CPP, was honored as the 2007 recipient of the ASIS International E.J. Criscuoli, Jr., CPP, Volunteer Leadership Award. With 24 years of service to ASIS, mostly in leadership positions with the Detroit Chapter, Steuer joined a select few who have been honored.

Steuer first joined ASIS in 1983 while living in Detroit. He earned his CPP designation in 1984 and served on the executive board of the Detroit Chapter from 1987 to 1991. For the past 20 years, Steuer has served as either a committee chair or committee member within the chapter. Additionally, from 1992 to 1996, he served on the ASIS Private Security Services Council.

From 1997 to 2000, Steuer was a member of the Professional Certification Board (PCB) and currently serves on various committees within the PCB. He was the assistant regional vice president of Region 11 from 2001 to 2004 and regional vice president for the past three years. Currently, he is senior regional vice president for Regions 11A and 1lB.
