ACB's Federal Guide a One-Stop Resource

The Federal Guide, a valuable legal research tool for America's Community Bankers' member institutions and other subscribers, is evolving with the changing statutory and regulatory environment and the lines of businesses of ACB members. Editorial changes to the publication's substantive information will make the Federal Guide o valuable resource for all community banks, irrespective of charter type.

The Federal Guide, while expanding into a one-stop resource for all financial services researchers, will continue to serve the needs of its current subscribers.

Early next year, subscribers to the Federal Guide print version will open a box containing a loose-leaf service with the familiar look of the Federal Guide, but upon closer review, the changes will be apparent. The contents will continue to be organized in four binders with colored tabs delineating the topic areas and paragraph designations within each unit. The four volumes will be reorganized into a basic scheme that consolidates all safety and soundness materials -- including enterpretations and opinions -- into first two volumes and creating a one-volume compilation for consumer compliance resources and a one-volume collection of housing-related sources. Subscribers to the two-volume Supervisory Service will have a self-contained comprehensive two-volume compilation of safety and soundness materials.

More Improvements to CD-ROM

The Federal Guide's CD-ROM subscribers will see even more improvements. Initially, the contents of the print version and the CD-ROM will be the same, but the CD-ROM application itself and the accompanying database will incorporate a more up-to-date technology, and eventually additional information. …
