Early Voting StatsWashington WireThe Wall Street JournalBy June Kronholz Almost 11 million voters have already cast their ballots in the 2008 election and Democrats have cast of the majority of them, according to June Kronholz of the Washington Wire. Kronholz reports that George Mason University Professor Michael McDonald is keeping track of early voting. He will be updating his website daily between now and election day.

According to McDonald, 2.1 million Florida voters have cast early ballots-- Democrats,45% and Republicans 40% and independents 15%. In Nevada, Democrats 55%, and 52% in Clark and Washoe Counties respectively, the two largest population centers. The same patterns are repeated in Colorado and California. In other states which do not register voters by party it is impossible to calculate turnout by party and in still other states early voting is not an option restricting speculation about overall early voting trends.

According to Jill Lawrence of On Politics the ads, called "Source of Hope" and "Pro Life, Pro Obama " aim to reach born-again Christians and younger evangelicals. Lawrence also reports that radio which has been in the decline as a political tool has made a big comeback this year.
