Some roast beef, a nice pint, a string of bunting and a bit of a knees-up - the perfect way to mark St George's Day, but where in the capital would we find them?

Mayor's Office: Good morning, Greater London Authority. How can I help?

Mktg: Hi, I was hoping to find out what some of the events around St George's Day are going to be this year. I've read that there will be some events organised by the Mayor's office.

Mayor's Office: I believe there will be some at Trafalgar Square. Let me have a look. (Reads from website.) 'The GLA is supporting several events in 2009 to mark the occasion of St George's Day. These include a concert in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 25 April, and Shakespeare's birthday party at the Globe Bankside on Sunday 19 April. The concert will feature music from folk and contemporary music artists and the event at the Globe will celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's sonnets.'

Mktg: So is there a week of events?

Mayor's Office: It only mentions those two events.

Mktg: Is there a website where I can see more details?

Mayor's Office: The only website I've got here is our general website There must be a link from there. If you search for St George, it'll come up.

Mktg: My neighbours and I were thinking of doing something over the weekend, like a mini street party. …
