The Wilson Web Retail Commerce Center site (http://www.wilsonweb.com/ research) produced by Wilson Internet Services of Rocklin, California, (not to be confused with H.W. Wilson) is providing free information about online sales in its Electronic Commerce Research Room. It reports that the Internet research firm ActiveMedia has projected in excces of $1 trillion in Web sales by the year 2001. Internet veteran Ralph F. Wilson started the service to help small to medium-sized companies understand how to sell on he Internet. More than a dozen articles on commerce Web sites by Wilson are available in full text.

Many small to medium-sized companies are seeking to carve out their share of online sales. But understanding how to sell on the internet requires a substantial learning curve, according to Wilson.

"We've tried to organize the site with merchants and Web developers in mind," said Wilson. "Merchants don't really care what Web companies' stock is selling for. They are looking for the nuts and bolts, the software programs and the store design techniques that make the difference between browsing and buying."
