SilverPlatter Information, a leading provider of electronic access to bibliographic and full-text databases, has announced that it has published the Leatherhead Food Research Association's (LFRA) FROSTI database, a world leading resource in information for food science and technology.

Foodline, produced by the LFRA, which has 800 members worldwide and is a leading international research center for the industry, covers everything from food science, technology, and legislation to market intelligence, current trends, and research. Through its publication on SilverPlatter, users can utilize SilverPlatter's unique search and retrieval software, SPIRS, and its ERL networking technology to get the latest food research information.

FROSTI is one of the three established databases previously published on LFRA's own proprietary technologies that form the unique Foodline series, which covers all aspects of the food and drinks industry sectors. A bibliographic database consisting of food science and technology, FROSTI contains 380,000 records, with semiweekly updates, and has information dating from 1972. FOMAD, which was launched with SilverPlatter in July, covers international food and drinks markets and contains 90,000 records dating back to 1982; it is also updated semiweekly.

The third database, FOREGE, is a unique and authoritative source of food additive, composition, and labeling legislation, containing 40,000 records, providing weekly updates covering current legislation, and due for release by SilverPlatter later this year. …
