Infoseek Partners with over 50 Content and Commerce Sites

Infoseek Corporation has announced the first key commerce, content, and community partners that launched with its newly revamped service. The new service features "intelligent" Web channels that integrate search results with information, services, products, and communities on the Web. Infoseek announced key partnerships in two of the fastest growing commerce arenas -- automotive and financial services.

The Automotive Channel will host two Anchor partners, Auto-By-Tel (http://, and Microsoft's CarPoint ( The agreements create broad partnerships that launch a full-service Automotive channel on Infoseek, where consumers will find in-depth reviews, car-buying guides, car dealer locators, and hundreds of additional automotive-related topics and links to other related sites.

Three leading online brokers have agreed to become co-anchor trading partners in Infoseek's new Personal Finance channel. The agreements place Ameritrade (, Datek (, and DLJdirect ( in prominent positions within the new channel.

As part of its drive to aggregate best-of-class content within its new intelligent channels, Infoseek has also inked deals with leading publishers that will provide Infoseek's consumers with timely, relevant content.

Infoseek has selected CMP Media, Inc. as the exclusive Anchor Content Partner for two of its just-launched channels: Computer and Internet. CMPnet (http:// will provide content from its network of 20 sites, including technology headlines and features, computer product comparisons, computer gaming content, Web Tutorials, and a Shareware Center. The deal includes co-marketing agreements that will also expose the Infoseek brand to CMP Media's consumers around the world. CMP Media reaches a total combined audience of 3.2 million subscribers and newsstand readers for its network of leading publications aimed at builders, sellers, and users of technology services, according to the announcement.

In addition to these content relationships, Infoseek has signed agreements with over 55 other leading Internet sites that will be featured within many of the channels.
