Chris Perrin has joined the David All Group as its new managing director. DAG anticipates Perrin will bring skills as an online political operative as well as a company leader. Perrin was the director of operations for the House Republican Conference and the chief operating officer at Adfero Group, a public affairs firm.


"My background is largely from the day-to-day responsibilities of the operations side," Perrin says. "I'm going to be bringing a lot of knowledge and expertise for running the company as efficiently as possible."

Chuck DeFeo, widely recognized as an online campaign expert after his success as e-campaign manager for Bush-Cheney '04, is the new president and CEO of Connell Donatelli, Inc., an online advertising firm. DeFeo joins the group after working with The Washington Times and leading and Salem News-Talk Online.

DeFeo will oversee all new-media communications, planning and advertising. He says this is "a great opportunity that really came out of the blue" that will allow him to combine his two areas of expertise--campaigns and building web 2.0 online communities.

"Chuck is one of the most respected online strategists in American politics. I can't think of anyone more qualified," chairwoman Rebecca Donatelli said in a statement.

Patrick Hynes, published author and blog outreach consultant on Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, has launched Hynes Communications.

Hynes, a Campaigns & Elections' Politics 2004 Rising Star, wants to be a liaison to the next generation of journalists in the blogosphere.

"We do the various social networking platforms as pipelines and we try to fill those pipelines with valuable content," Hynes says. The firm will utilize both digital and print media to address crisis management and issue advocacy with the ultimate goal of building large audiences and "driving home" issue-based content.

Former Clinton advisor Sally Katzen has joined the bipartisan Washington, D.C. consulting firm the Podesta Group as executive managing director.

"Overall, her experience in Washington in the regulatory arena makes her an ideal resource for a lot of our firm's clients," says communications director Missi Tessier.

Katzen worked on the Obama-Biden transition as a member of the Agency Review Working Group and prior to that filled a number of advisory and management roles during the Clinton administration.

Katzen will help clients develop regulatory strategies and provide management counsel to the firm.


Jason Roe, a campaign adviser for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, fellow Romney staffer Duane Dichiara and Hector Barajas, Spanish-language communications director for McCain/ Palin 2008, have founded the bicoastal consulting firm Revolvis. …
