New CorpTech Web and CD-Based Database Tracks Privately Held Technology Companies

Corporate Technology Information Services, Inc. (CorpTech), a Woburn, Massachusetts-based firm, has introduced CorpTech's Extended Profiles, a database that contains both current and historical data on 41,000 primarily privately held technology companies. According to the company, the information has been gathered by phone and fax interviews directly with the companies.

CorpTech's Extended Profiles is available as part of its Explore Database Gold CD-ROM and also on its Web site (http:// www.corptech.com). Free sample profiles can be downloaded from the site.

"Tracking key factors about a company over time can give excellent insights into its growth record, strategic direction, purchase/sale history, products, strength of management team, and competitive position," said Steve Parker, vice president of sales and marketing at CorpTech.

Extended Profiles contains four sections: the current profile, corporate history, executive history, and performance analysis. The history section covers up to 10 years of corporate change (ownership, location, products, executives, etc.), and the performance analysis includes up to 4 years of sales, employees, and sales/employee productivity, plus a rankings report from the company's Web site. …
