Online registration to compete for membership in the 2010-2012 IFRA International Newspaper Color Quality Club begins in May.

New in this competition will be the opportunity to produce test prints at the beginning of the year, when competitors may have more time.

To reduce the time between test print production and results announcement, a new plan calls for online registration to run from May through December 2009; production of monthly test prints and submission between January and April 2010; final evaluation and announcement of new members in June 2010; and presentation of winners during IFRA Expo in October 2010.

Newspapers that register by the October 16 can take part in a free test run with evaluation report to detect possible need to optimize print production in time for the competition.

Changed competition rules reduce participants' time and effort, without detracting from the test results' informational value. It is no longer only a one-time result that will be evaluated, but instead the consistency of print quality over a four-month period. …
