William Kostric was just your typical, average, everyday type of guy before he appeared outside one of President Obama's town hall meetings in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. It was during that event that Kostric, an advocate of the Second Amendment, became an overnight media sensation and target for Obama-enamored pro-gun-control people everywhere. What was the cause of all the uproar? Was it the sign Kostric was carrying that read "It Is Time To Water The Tree Of Liberty," which is a take-off on the famous Thomas Jefferson phrase "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants?" No, controversy was caused because he had a pistol strapped to his leg, which is legal under New Hampshire's open-carry law. In an interview with CBS news, Kostric explained that state residents "have a regular open-carry contingent.... We do litter pickups and normal everyday events. People do that with their firearms.... A right not exercised is a right lost."

Anti-gunners in the media did not see it that way. MSNBC's Carlos Watson was shocked about Kostric's action and angrily wondered aloud why Kostric cannot be stripped of his weapon: "I cannot imagine that there aren't enough lawyers in New Hampshire who can't file some sort of emergency injunction." One of his guests quickly added: "Why can't we get rid of him now?"

Fellow MSNBC correspondent Chris Matthews, who is an admitted propagandist for the Obama administration, joined in on the assault. …
