Mews of Mayfair is probably my favourite restaurant in London - I eat there perhaps twice a week when I'm in the UK.

I discovered the place through Max Clifford, when we first met about four years ago. It's very peaceful for a London restaurant - it's in a little cobbled courtyard, so it's relatively insulated from the sound of passing cars. There are so many options here: you can sit outside with a cocktail, go downstairs to the lounge bar for a quiet drink or a coffee, or, of course, head for the restaurant.

The food here is incredible and represents great value for money. Given that I've been going there for years, I know the menu pretty well and I've got two favourite dishes I usually go for: the liver and bacon or good old fish and chips. The finish of the place is lovely - the curtains and the chair coverings are soft, plush and brilliant white.

The staff are attentive but not pushy, and always do their best to cater for your needs. Most importantly, they are discreet. If a celebrity walks in, the staff don't start looking; it's just a regular thing for them. …
