GHANA, CAMEROON, COTE D'IVOIRE, Mozambique, Egypt, Tunisia, Namibia, Morocco, Angola, Senegal and Togo will showcase new home and away kits produced by Puma at the Orange Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Angola from 10 January to 31 January 2010, and the teams going to the 2010 Fifa World Cup--Ghana, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire and Algeria--will wear them in South Africa.

The new designs--the home kits are shown in the photos here--were unveiled in mid-October. Puma's African portfolio will increase to 12 on 1 January 2010 after the recent addition of Algeria. Puma has also been named the "official fan shop" of the Nations Cup.

Says Jochen Zeitz, Puma's chairman and CEO: "In 2010, Africa will be the centre of attention with the Orange Africa Cup of Nations in January leading up to the World Cup in South Africa.

"With a powerful portfolio of 11 [now 12] Puma-sponsored African national teams, [the company] is already the most visible football brand on the continent. We have enjoyed more than a decade of close partnership and collaboration with African football federations. Africa has a great deal to offer the international football community; next year's major tournaments will provide the perfect stage and Puma is very proud to be a part of them."

The kits

Puma's new home and away kits for the African teams push the boundaries of technology and design. Making a bold statement, the jerseys are contoured to deliver a snug body fit that accentuates the players' masculinity.
