Awards of Excellence

Article excerpt

Now that the use of technology in schools is no longer a novelty but a reality, it is harder to make and market a successful piece of edtech. Whether it is a classroom device or district-level front-office assessment software, it's no longer about the promise of what a product can do; it's about the proof. This year's Award of Excellence winners can be proud of this acknowledgment. Each went through the wringer--poked, prodded, and tested by actual educators in actual schools (see the list of volunteers at right).

Special thanks to Renee Ramig, Director of Technology for the Seven Hills School, Walnut Creek CA, for coordinating the overall awards judging process, Joe Huber, Director of Information Systems, Greenwood Community School Corporation, Greenwood, IN for supervising the evaluation of all network products, and to Chris Lehmann, Principal, and Jeremy Spry, intern, and their team at Philadelphia's Science Leadership Academy, for judging all hardware.
