- What's her remit?

Ormrod has been promoted from her previous role as head of brand development at T-Mobile UK, to become its first head of brand and advertising.

She takes on many responsibilities from the previous head of advertising and sponsorship, Sam Taylor, and will lead the mobile network operator's integrated marketing strategy.

Ormrod will report to UK head of brand and communication Lysa Hardy, who in turn reports directly to chief marketing officer Srini Gopalan.

- What's the challenge?

Ormrod takes up the role at an interesting time for T-Mobile, as parent company Deutsche Telecom prepares to sell the UK arm of the business to Orange owner France Telecom. The sale is expected to have a significant impact on the UK mobile market, creating a business with 28.4m customers.

France Telecom has stated that the Orange and T-Mobile brands would both remain independent for the first 18 months after the merger, while branding options are considered. …
