Last week, one of my colleagues was marveling at how well-entrenched we already were in 2010. With the holidays behind us, many of us are now reviewing our resolutions for the new year and counting just how many of them we have kept. (OK, I know, it's still early.)

Every year, it's "out with the old and in with the new." But let's face it. There are plenty of things that we'd all like to leave behind and start anew, especially after last year. And change can be good. In fact, you'll even be seeing a few changes in the upcoming issues of Information Today. We'll keep you posted on those as we go along. But I digress.

For those who have participated in one or more of Information Today's People's Choice Awards since its inception in 2006, I wanted to give you an update on the status of the program. As many of you know, we usually touted the winners with a front-page feature in our January issue; however, the downturn in the numbers of industry associates who participated in the 2009 nomination process seemed to mirror the state of the economy. …
